We know that all religions alike, from the lowest fetishism to the highest absolutism, are but so many attempts of the human soul to grasp and realise the Infinite. So we gather all these flowers, and, binding them together with the cord of love, make them into a wonderful bouquet of worship.”

Quote 488 – Even if you have knowledge, do not disturb the childlike faith of the ignorant. On the other hand, go down to their level and gradually bring them up (note 30). That is a very powerful idea, and it has become the ideal in India. That is why you can see a great philosopher going into a temple and worshipping images. It is not hypocrisy.

Quote 489 – [Krishna answers:] “The man who has given up all desires, who desires nothing, not even this life, nor freedom, nor gods, nor work, nor anything.

It is through the heart that the Lord is seen, and not through the intellect.

Quote 495 – We know how often in our lives through laziness and cowardice we give up the battle and try to hypnotise our minds into the belief that we are brave.

हम जानते हैं कि आलस्य और कायरता के माध्यम से हमारे जीवन में कितनी बार हम लड़ाई छोड़ देते हैं और अपने दिमाग को इस विश्वास में सम्मोहित करने की कोशिश करते हैं कि हम बहादुर हैं।

Quote 496 – Karma-Yoga, therefore, is a system of ethics and religion intended to attain freedom through unselfishness, and by good works. The Karma-Yogi need not believe in any doctrine whatever. He may not believe even in God, may not ask what his soul is, nor think of any metaphysical speculation. He has got his own special aim of realising selflessness; and he has to work it out himself. Every moment of his life must be realisation, because he has to solve by mere work, without the help of doctrine or theory, the very same problem to which the Jnâni applies his reason and inspiration and the Bhakta his love.

इसलिए, कर्म-योग, नैतिकता और धर्म की एक प्रणाली है जिसका उद्देश्य निःस्वार्थता के माध्यम से और अच्छे कार्यों द्वारा स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त करना है। कर्म-योगी को किसी भी सिद्धांत में विश्वास करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। वह ईश्वर में भी विश्वास नहीं कर सकता है, यह नहीं पूछ सकता है कि उसकी आत्मा क्या है, और न ही किसी भी आध्यात्मिक अटकलों के बारे में सोचें। उसे निस्वार्थता को महसूस करने का अपना विशेष उद्देश्य मिला है; और उसे खुद ही काम करना होगा। उनके जीवन के हर पल का अहसास होना चाहिए, क्योंकि उन्हें केवल सिद्धांत या सिद्धांत की मदद के बिना, केवल एक ही समस्या के समाधान के लिए काम करना है, जिसमें से एक ही समस्या है, जो कि जैनी उनके कारण और प्रेरणा को लागू करता है और भक्त को उनका प्यार।

Quote 497 – The flowers that we see all around us are beautiful, beautiful is the rising of the morning sun, beautiful are the variegated hues of nature. The whole universe is beautiful, and man has been enjoying it since his appearance on earth. Sublime and awe-inspiring are the mountains; the gigantic rushing rivers rolling towards the sea, the trackless deserts, the infinite ocean, the starry heavens — all these are awe-inspiring, sublime, and beautiful indeed.

हमारे चारों ओर जो फूल दिखाई पड़ते हैं, वे सुंदर हैं, सुंदर सुबह के सूरज का उगना है, सुंदर प्रकृति के परिवर्तनशील रंग हैं। पूरा ब्रह्मांड सुंदर है, और मनुष्य पृथ्वी पर अपनी उपस्थिति के बाद से इसका आनंद ले रहा है। उदात्त और विस्मयकारी पहाड़ हैं; विशाल भागती हुई नदियाँ, समुद्र की ओर लुढ़कती हुई, अनंत रेगिस्तान, अनंत महासागर, तारों से भरे आकाश – ये सब वास्तव में विस्मयकारी, उदात्त और सुंदर हैं।

Quote 498 – The goal of mankind is knowledge. That is the one ideal placed before us by Eastern philosophy. Pleasure is not the goal of man, but knowledge. Pleasure and happiness come to an end. It is a mistake to suppose that pleasure is the goal.

मानव जाति का लक्ष्य ज्ञान है। यह पूर्वी दर्शन द्वारा हमारे सामने रखा गया एक आदर्श है। प्रसन्नता मनुष्य का लक्ष्य नहीं है, बल्कि ज्ञान है। खुशी और खुशी का अंत हो जाता है। यह मान लेना गलत है कि आनंद ही लक्ष्य है।

Quote 499 – It is a weakness to think that any one is dependent on me, and that I can do good to another. This belief is the mother of all our attachment, and through this attachment comes all our pain. We must inform our minds that no one in this universe depends upon us; not one beggar depends on our charity; not one soul on our kindness; not one living thing on our help. All are helped on by nature, and will be so helped even though millions of us were not here. The course of nature will not stop for such as you and me; it is, as already pointed out, only a blessed privilege to you and to me that we are allowed, in the way of helping others, to educate ourselves. This is a great lesson to learn in life, and when we have learned it fully, we shall never be unhappy; we can go and mix without harm in society anywhere and everywhere.

Quote 500 – The ideal man is he who, in the midst of the greatest silence and solitude, finds the intensest activity, and in the midst of the intensest activity finds the silence and solitude of the desert.

आदर्श आदमी वह है जो सबसे बड़ी चुप्पी और एकांत के बीच में, गहन गतिविधि को पाता है, और सबसे गहन गतिविधि के बीच में रेगिस्तान का मौन और एकांत पाता है।
